I didn't remember having a choice when ordering the 3LP set but I'm glad I got the black vinyl version. Although a glow in the dark LP looks cool.

I've said it before, i'll say it again. This is my favorite JG work if just for the opening cut alone. i would LOVE an expanded release of this. the 3 disc CD from a few years back that used the same art as Shout's blu ray release had a disc labeled "analog masters" of the expanded that gave me some hope that someone was working on this.

Crazy record.. jazz, psych, eastern, folk, funk, gospel. French record but they are definitely not singing in French. It's good stuff.

Diggers Digest guy has a write-up:

"Ultra rare concept Lp by pianist from Surinam, Majoie Hajary, directed by trumpet player Roger Guerin. Somewhere between jazz funk and Xian psych with a touch of exotic sounds. It is an amazing record blending fuzz, sitar, bongos, tablas, effects on vocals, with heavy jazz funk rhythm section. On "Prologue" we have a fantastic groove, with funky furious drums, jazz guitar, trumpet solo, sounds a bit like Placebo or Sunbirds. On "Priere", a superb trumpet melody, with hard hitting drums, guitar, tablas, bass ... Absolutely lovely blending of wide influences. Modal jazz groove on "La Mort de Judas". "Le Verbe" sounds like De Roubaix was behind the production. Essential album. "

@texas, like sunbirds you say? My ears are pricked!

Now spinning some smooth grooves amongst the cheese on this one. Promo only Sony LP with funky house band 'Time Cycle'.

Listen! IV

Some cops and ninjas action

Big City part II Vol 2 OST

some laid back funky jams and some smouldering slow burners on this one great little record! Need to check some others in the series.

And

If I were to recommend two or three of these hissatsu (deathblow) bgm LP's this would probably be in there. Some funky shaft like songs and some killer drama suspense cues.

'I don't give a damn, I am the Cobra. No one can tell me what to do...'

Ever since I saw Franco Nero running around in his bright suit and hat to the theme song of Day of the Cobra on late night TV in Germany (must have been in the late 90ties), I've loved this score.

Took me a while to find the LP for a decent price - very happy.

Passing on todays Waxwork Goblins, though I'll probably grab Phenomena and Inferno down the line, but spinning this slab of badness:

I'm passing also. I have 2 editions of Phenomena, original Japanese with the rock tracks, which I prefer over the AMS re-issue in 2014 of just the score. Profondo Rosso I like but the single LP is plenty for me. I don't have Inferno but I imagine getting an original LP will be fine.

Franco Nero rules! I have seen a lot of him this year because of all the spaghetti westerns he is in. I have no idea about that record you posted, but that is one hell of a cool cover.

Ditto. My OGs and AMS/Cine reissues will suffice. I took the time to listen to the expandeds this week and, while enjoyable, they just aren't for me. I feel certain that the older reissues and originals I don't have, yet may want at some point, will be very attainable down the road.

Not sure how well the film holds up but I find those Polziotteschi with Nero, Merli, etc. quite good fun if in the right mood.
