Highly recommended, and definitely worthy of a resissue.

btw, nice run, @static!

@inks - I also have a small factory defect causing surface noise at the end of track 1/beginning of track 2 on side A. It's visible under bright light. The rest of the album sounds really good to me, and with such eclectic electronics. I could listen to Murder in a loop for hours -- just hypnotized.

So good, fucking hell. So, knowing that Howarth added the 4/4 percussion to the main theme for the first studio album re-recording is interesting, as it now seems to have been fully absorbed into the Carpenter family's shared consciousness. I heard their new band rendition on the tour and on the other retrospective releases, but the kick drum certainly packs some solid punch on this new creation. I was enjoying the score quite a lot during this film, and the album is hitting me in all the right spots on this Friday night.

Indeed so, I love this new score too.

I should clarify (and anyone is very welcome to contradict me) but my understanding is that Howarth used Carpenter's original recording/multi-track masters for the first Varese '83 album release, and just added to/remixed them- they are not a full re-recording. Unlike the Japanese '79 release, which is 100% re-recording of the music and features none of Carpenter's original film tracks.

After a week long holiday in Normandy/France I am back and see I need to catch up with some STBC reading.
I am loving @Tim's spins from a week ago. Il Fiume Del Grande Caimano / The Great Alligator - Stelvio Cipriani I really want!
An that is some great work and news regarding Tetsuo! Nice one @Nathan!
Jaws 3 in my opinion is an excellent listen.
@Inksb: that Berserk looks beautiful.
And a re-issue for Videodrome is more than welcome. I find it strange that this has not been re-released in the past couple of years.

My first spin in ten days or so is this brilliant piece of wax. And I need some songs to go with some score at the moment. With so many records to choose from and a bad memory I find it hard to select records that fit my mood. As it is warming up here and the heat is draining my energy level I need some uplifting/headbanging/airguitar type of music.

You all turned me on to this a few months ago, but I’m only now finding a chance to check it out.

This is soooooo great.

It warms my heart when other find this score as wonderful as I do. It's one of my favorite Chris Young scores.

I'd just use shims under ikea shelf (or what ever it is, it looks just like the ones I got from ikea) that way in case you shift the table on top a little it won't come unlevel as the whole top should be.

PS - I love your monster posters.

looking great @Tex! happy spinning...

here's what i played last night. really love this score and i could not await to have it. huge disappointment at first, as the record was dirty as hell and it sounded like somebody is frying bacon in the kitchen. after a matrix treatment it sounds like it should. very nice pressing and great audio. well done!
