Really? 12 pages in and no one has mentioned the Shining OST? Ligeti - Bartok - Penderecki - Carlos - a true masterpiece. It really needs a reissue, original copies are expensive as hell - I'm thinking the rights must be heinously expensive or someone would've made it happen at this point in the game.

Really?, The shining ost is good.

But how about,

John Williams/Stomu Yamashta - Images Ost

The score alone is barley even known/appreciated by J. Williams, fanatics!. In which is a shame because its utterly breathtaking/terrifying!.

Same story with the film itself!.

I'd also like to see Trick 'r Treat on vinyl, such a good soundtrack. I'd also love to see John Ottman's unreleased Halloween H20 released on vinyl.

Would love to discover someone has dug up the master tapes to Slumber Party Massacre and released it on vinyl! If you think early John Carpenter wasn't DIY enough your love this.

I really want to get La Planete Sauvage by Alain Goraguer. any one know if there is any plans to reissue this?

It's been reissued (2006) and some copies are floating on discogs with decent prices.

Pitch, Slumber Party Massacre was issued on vinyl, just under a private press but there are copies that pop up periodically on Discogs & eBay.

I'm sure it'll get reissued at one point, it's a class A soundtrack.

Twilight zone full episode scores. Many were released on a 4 cd 40th anniversary comp. Some of the episode scores are superb. Featured composers include Bernard herrmann and jerry goldsmith.

Wasn't aware of that - I'll look out for it, though by private press I assume you mean bootleg? I try not to buy them so an official release would be welcome!

Beyond The Black Rainbow OST would be awesome and I think it's actually coming out pretty soon on Jagjaguwar.
Other than that I'd LOVE to have Thomas Newman's score to Real Genius on vinyl. You can put the soundtrack together with a little hunting but I don't think the score has ever been available anywhere. Criminal.

You hear that Spencer!?! Real Genius. Free cover art if you get that one.

just watched it a couple days ago, and it reminded me how great it is - einhorn's 'shock waves'. amazing soundtrack, still sounds very modern. that one would be beautiful in death waltz mode.

It's been a long time since I saw Shock Waves, but I clearly remember the dreadful analogous synthesizer score in that one ! Good call !

I'd love to see Ralph Bakshi's "Wizards", "Cannibal Holocaust", "The Boogeyman" (80's) and Fulci's "New Gladiators" all on wax.

Thanks for the links to pick up Upstream Color! I had no idea it was released, let alone that I could directly support Shane Carruth by buying it! Awesome.

I want to add the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to my list. It is honestly just a fantastic score. Aside from the iconic theme song from it that's used in the intro to the movie, there are some great tracks like the one during the fire scene.

sorry, totally late to this thread. has anyone mentioned Artemiev's Solaris yet? though I see there is a copy on ebay now- with a 25% off discount!, so I just need to dig up $1331.25...

Hey jmctodo, I posted photos of both my Solaris on the "recent soundtracks" thread....had a quick look at the ones on Ebay.com and I'd say beware of the Melodiya there: pretty sure that if, like mine, it says "Limited Collector Edition" on the reverse it's the unofficial re-issue and NOT the original '72 release. Great lp all the same, I love mine, but just a heads up - it's worth considerably less. The Japanese Columbia press below that, however, is a beauty and a pretty good price, would love to have that version too :)

thanks DISCOSUCKS, I'll check out that thread to drool.

I can't believe you have me considering spending $300 on a record. 'tis a slippery slope indeed - and $300 is a lot more tempting than $1300...

oh, and that seller has a lot of gems, he/she should probably join this forum. :)
