The only current version of The Fog you can get is the Silva Screen one, which isn’t *terribly* plentiful in the US, so maybe that makes some sense?
I’m not super familiar with ESNY - I just have the VS version. I thought various other versions had issues? Maybe dialogue snippets? Speed or mix issues? I’m sure someone who knows more can elaborate.

I refer you to my previous detailed comparisons on both scores/version releases in Comparison Corner sir! I found the comparisons to be quite revelatory on these two OSTs :O

This is coming from the partnership/camaraderie with SacredBones, most likely, since they deal with the JC music. But yeah, I'm wondering if there's anything new to those upcoming releases compared the DW and Silvascreen. Have those releases become rare enough that there's demand for another edition ? Or do Waxwork have fans asking for theses releases who don't know about the DW and Silvascreen pressings ?

Will there be more crossover of JC catalog releases from DW to WW ?

My tuppence.... I'm not sure that JC himself saw anything from the DW/Silva Screen reissues (he was once reported as referring to a DW tee-wearing Spin member seen at a signing by saying "Ahh, those pirates!"). As his 'official' label now, Sacred Bones re-issuing his catalogue likely means decent royalties for the composer - they seem to have a solid partnership going. WW being involved continues the team-up with SB, and you can bet your ass there will be eight different versions/colours/packages from both labels for these! I'm all good with it frankly, even though chances are I have no reason to buy (if they are straight reissues). Put this great music out there ad infinitum, in every flavour that JSC* wants it, and keep feeding John's video game habit. Fuckit - let's all chip in and get him a super-high-end VR rig!

Ps I'd love it if they reissued his entire score catalogue to be honest! Including those previously unreleased on wax/botched by Varese Sarabande!

It would be even cooler if we got good artwork on them too but lets be honest we all know these are just going to be pretty standard WW stuff.

thanks, @scojo. I thought there was a CC for EFNY

I have the VS, but it sounds like I want to get this new one if it’s the same as the DW release (not interested in chatter on my soundtracks!).

I have both an OG VS of The Fog, and the Silva Screen version. But, as mentioned, my SS disc 1 is messed up. Maybe I should grab this new Fog just so I can do a comparison between the three.

I've got a haze DW fog which i love, but i'm a packaging junkie so we'll see what that looks like...JC is one i'm not afraid to double or triple up on.

EFNY I have a german pressing of the VS after ScoJo's comparison article, and i have the DW pressing from way back. It would be interesting to see what they are gonna do, but i'm not fooling anyone by saying i won't pick it up

Looks like this version of the Fog duplicates the Silva Screen version, which has Disc 1 that contains the complete score, and Disc 2 which replicates the original VS release.
I dumbly bought both of these, because I want to see how The Fog fares in terms of sound quality, and because I have no expanded version of EFNY, so I figured what the hell. Shipping was free for some reason.

The Sacred Bones variants are only pressings of 500 each, so I guess in terms of collectibility, they’re the ones to get, but I didn’t see them until I’d already bought the WW versions. Oh well.

WW has two variants of each title, and one costs a few bucks more, with no explanation. I bought the cheaper ones because I didn’t really like the colorways of the more expensive ones that much anyway.

Look at those terrible covers. EFNY is particularly awful with terrible composition, screwed up proportions and just bad color choices. Also looks like they just slapped the title in down in the bottom left because that's where it would fit

Easy pass for me :)

I still like the SS Fog artwork wayyyyy more. I mostly got the Fog to check out the 12-page booklet with unreleased BTS shots, and compare sound.

I have basically neglected the entirety of the Bruton catalog while I waste all my money on stupid Italian records, so this was an easy pickup for me.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - BRUTON BRUTOFF

Cameron, Hawkshaw, Bennett, Frank Ricotti, Johnny Scott, Francis Monkman and more. All here, all Bruton, all ambient and calm and amazing and tinkly and everything you want right now for a better life. Period electronics, pastoral loveliness and I have to say a great LP name and sleeve. Another Trunk classic. Well that's what I think. No downloads, no CD, VINYL ONLY. Only available here. I have only licensed for 500 copies. NOTE: album will be sent out once it has arrived. It is scheduled to come in about 28th August. So this could well mean 1st September. But it is coming - I have been told it is in transit - and will be sent out when it arrives.

I hate when companies do that. Exact same editions, different colors, but one iw more expensive. They're just making additional money on the exact same products, just because some people get suckered into the limited edition and aftermarket resell value thing.

I ALWAYS got for the cheapest edition, regardless of color, unless the more expensive package does have additional value, like extra 7'', booklet of essays/liner notes, different deluxe packaging...

@texas, thanks for the headsup! Somehow missed this in my email but this is a must-order for me too. I don’t think I have too many of the LPs these are pulled from.
