Anyone who says 'Super Deluxe Edition' or 'Extreme Variant Colourway Edition' or 'Collector Bait Hype Tastic Apocalypse Bags of Cash' edition....... doesn't get my money.
I don't get it. If companies stop doing that, how will I know if a record's any good?

eh, i don't mind the first one, especially if it refers to either a premium packaging ( a la the DW super thick textured gatefolds for house of the devil, Godzilla, city of the living dead..)or an expanded/remastered release vs a straight reissue.

but if you are hyping something up beyond the music, make it worth it, put some effort into it. charge a premium for special packaging? well make sure you do it as well as Waxwork and Gary Pullin, (If anyone hasn't seen that 3d cover in person, its the coolest thing ever).

And remember folks, if it was just about the music, everything could be in solid color sleeves with copperplate lettering and no on would say boo...but we all know that's not exactly true.

I think what strikes a nerve *cough* with Twisted Nerve, is that there does not seem to be a standard or distro version available of the LP. Whereas with all the deluxe Death Waltz albums and others, there is typically a less-expensive version that is widely distributed.

In short, you're all correct? :)

I went on a diatribe about this already so ill be brief, but go check out the description of the product on the company's own website. It reads like a bot generated the text from a word cloud of promotional hype phrases.

oh yeah....that's pretty brutal.

to be totally honest, i didn't even realize ScoJo's comment was about anything in particular until a little bit ago, thought it was just a funny general comment on the state of this hobby, which has been getting very strange. yeah that whole label is really odd. I sort of dig what they are doing but 39 pounds...what is that like $60 for us at today's conversion before shipping is so out of bounds for me i can't even begin to think about it.

I do find that it's nice to have those instances where you can dismiss easily because of price and not have a second thought about. It's those times where it's a bit too expensive but you rationalize your purchase, anyway, with guilt or you don't buy it and then keep thinking about it.

Re: "Twisted Nerve"

I pride myself in having the most comprensive Herrrmann collection in the Northern hemisphere so opting out was not option.... (Read: I would have never bought it either if it was ANY other composer: Artifical collectible: Yuk, Splattered vinyl: Blehhhhh, Charging my credit card immediately instead of when they ship: BOOOOOOOO)

I read they are also planning to release "Marnie" , it will be interesting to see where they source it from, since it has never been officially released. (There are a few tracks of the original recordings on a compilation CD, sounding wonderful, indicating there must be a high quality source for it)

Akriliko (unreleased library by Brugnolini, Alessandroni & Teimar) is now available for pre-order on the Cometa Edizioni website.

"Daydream" is also available

I was waiting for Akriliko to go up before I ordered Daydream and figured I wasn't the only one here with that plan...

Transmission has this Buio Mondo group for sale, gave it a stream I like it alot. The distorted bass gives it a bit of a metal feel to me. Thinking of picking it up.

Robust physical offering, GBP exchange rate, but yeah it's just way too expensive. I'm sure LITA is having to pay much too much to get the stock. I'd like to buy it but have to pass at that cost.

I have zero problems with LITA. My issue is with the source.

maybe it was posted here, but I missed it if so.

Francois de Roubaix - Commissaire Moulin Et Autres Scenes De Crimes - WeMe records. WeMe's site has it on blue vinyl, and there is also a black vinyl version. I just ordered a blue one from the WeMe Records webstore along with a yellow vinyl copy of Repeated Viewing Three Sisters OST.
