I know that I should offer a photo, but I'm trying to get some work done before electricity goes out (been popping on and off with the snowstorm). Anyway, I listened to Paul Weller's (The Jam, The Style Council) soundtrack for "Jawbone" this morning, and it's great. It's a great mix of synth and electronic textures and lonely ballads and some nice, tense pieces. I wasn't expecting the musical variety along with how well it all flowed together.

Currently listening to "Visitors From the Galaxy" (arrived today in the storm), and it's also wonderful! And both albums arrived with the vinyl looking and sounding beautiful.

@ChrisMcqueen007 - Nice run! A very interesting trio of records. I agree with the comments on NoES. It has become timeless horror that is now part of our shared consciousness. Also, excellent copy of Stridulum.

Red, I hope to eventually see a pic of Visitors. That looks like a unique release. Stay toasty!

Oh, Evan. You sweet, sweet son of a gun. I left Revenge of the Ninja sitting in a crate at the last record fair I attended a couple of weeks back. I've wanted it for ages, I never see it around, and it was the right price. But I spent my money elsewhere. Such a cool score.

Revenge of The Ninja is so good.
The first copy i ordered years ago from europe came with what a hole through it, looked like a ninja shot it with a arrow.

took me a bit longer to track another copy down.

definitely worth any price. also check out the Young Warriors soundtrack Rob Walsh did that also has a Varese LP, total synth fire. Severin films is releasing the movie uncut so i imagine interest in the lp will pick up again soon.

I absolutely LOVE the Young Warriors OST, what a dollar bin find that was! Have coveted Revenge of the Ninja ever since.

Ps. both movies are fucking awesome :D

I've added two photos -- one of the gatefold and another of the insert.

@MW & @ScoJo - If I told you how much Revenge was, I would feel too much public shame. So since I already have enough of that internally, I'll just say thank you both for the Young Warriors recommendations. I've neither seen the film nor heard the score, but "synth fire" makes this a surefire sale. Cheers, lads.

@reddye - That LP looks sharp. And weird. Good weird. How is the pressing quality?

PS - Never mind. Just saw that you said it was "sounding wonderful" yesterday.

Yeah, it sounded nice and crisp -- no clicks or pops. Same with Jawbone.

Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get my Burning Witches order today so I can spin those. For now, going to play some 7"s.

an old Young Warriors trailer - you can get a taste of some of da synth in the background. the new restored cut is supposed to be rated X.

Revenge of The Ninja

Its very hard for me to describe the epic-ness of this track in words but if you go directly to minute 2:39 you'll understand.
really great hook.

cannon films. nough said.

The funny thing is, MW, that I'm a bit of a Cannon whore, but I just never saw Young Warriors. In truth, I didn't even realize it was another Walsh score. Revenge of the Ninja on the other hand (heck, all of the Sho Kosugi Ninja films), I've been wearing out since my youth.

Final Exam - Gary Scott
Nice creepy prowler feel to some of these tracks

@Tex absolutely love that Piccioni...such a great vibe to it and gets played often over here!
@Mateo how could you :) I also never see it posted. It seems ripe for a reissue.
@ monsterworship Young Warriors is cool also but Revenge is a special one. Like you said it is hard to describe the epic-ness!

Surely one of the best albums of 2016 by any reasonable standard... I got to see him play once, don't pass up the opportunity to go to a show. His cover of Sabbath's "Changes" is like when Johnny Cash covered "Hurt" -- it is his song now.

Agreed on all fronts. Hard.

@texas - Great picks... is that the Japanese reissue of Scacco Alla Regina? If so, could you comment on the quality? I would like to pick one up some day. Looks gorgeous.

Goggles on... ready for the freezing arctic blast of... surface noise?
