The issue I have with this scenario is that means they know there aren't any that sound okay and that's why they won't exchange them. They can't afford to. They still need to shift all the sealed "see no evil hear no evil" copies to make up for the handful-to-many returns they'll get on the ones already in the World. They're probably just trying to break even. I have some sympathy for VS here, but the whole thing feels scummy. I guess we don't have much room to kvetch since they will pay for return shipping and refund, but I'm not coughing this up; I really want it. A lot! It just peeves me being barefaced fibbed to like that. As consumers, we put up with enough lies of omission on nearly every release these days. Please don't piss down my neck then tell me it's raining.
My hope is that they never use those printed inners again.

SoundCloud samples on the above link. I revisited the film a few months back with an ear bent on the score and enjoyed it. I have not given it a complete standalone listen though. That said, this one is a must for me. One of my favorite anime films by Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Stoked to see more releases from TL.

I have some dup anime lps to put up for sale at some point including an og vampire hunter D and og wicked city, amongst others. Will put em up here before discogs.
Also
There a 9 ! GHIBLI LP's getting reissued in Japan soon (November 3rd) . Ogs for some of these go for silly money.
The symphonic suite, OST, and image album for Nausicaa, Laputa and Totoro. Will each get a reissue in Japan.
Can be pre ordered through Amazon Japan.
Here!

I highly recommend all the Nausicaa LP's (although ogs are not too expensive), and the Laputa OST and symphonic suite.
I'm not a fan of Totoro on the whole but the og of these are crazy expensive.

Do you know if those Ghibli LP's will see a stateside release?

jgibbs4053 wrote:La-la land is releasing Schindler’s ListI know they've been advertising a CD release along with the vinyl release of E.T., but I haven't seen/heard about a vinyl release of Schindler's List.

I'm very disappointed with them at the moment.I honestly don't know. I'm more disappointed today than I was yesterday. It's pretty shady stuff. I've just sent them an email saying so, politely, in no uncertain terms. I doubt their reply, if there is one, will contain anything new and/or noteworthy.

inksb wrote:Thanks for the info. I may end up pre-ordering Laputa.Good choice, this is the superior (with added synth!) Japanese ost rather than the American dub's OST.

Tried to be very measured about my disappointment, hope that's how it comes across. This isn't mean at all. This is the saddest of letters. I want to run into the woods with you on a rainy day and chew thumbholes in our sweaters while we bury our dead tamagotchis in the soft wet earth.

I won’t ever buy from them again - and the fact I got stiffed for customs duty when nobody else manages to get customs charges is the icing on the cake. I buy all year round from the US. I don’t care how large the font is on their customs warning page on the website. They can go fuck themselves. This is fair.
