All three versions are limited to 1000 each. The shipping to the USA is outrageous. I hope these turn up stateside somewhere. I'm only really interested in the black version.

Picked up Superior Viaduct's Solaris the other week. I already have the Mirumir one, but I saw the SV one whilst in a shop in New York (they had all three sleeve variants) and it looked too good to resist!

I've listened to both versions, they sound the same to me. But the SV handmade sleeve looks so gorgeous (I got the 'meadow' sleeve), so that's the one I'd recommend if anyone's still dithering over which one to get.

Also, @discosucks: I was wondering the same about the re-recording. I was under the impression that the original ANS synthesizer was "destroyed shortly after the original recording". So I'm not sure how the re-recording was made some 18 years later...

They put some pictures on the copies available at amazon
it seems they will have the Picture Disc version, and the one with Clooney as an astronaut.
In my opinion, the kiss cover it's the best, so I ended up ordering it at invada.

I ordered from an eBay seller who had the black cover posted but sent me the picture disc version. What's the sound quality on it compared to the black or white versions? I've always heard pic discs aren't as good. I just don't really want to deal with the hassle of trying to return this version.

So I ordered a copy (pictured as the black version) from Amoeba's online store, and was sent the picture disc version. It seems I'm not destined to get this record. All I've heard about picture discs are that they're not great quality, so I'd rather get this one in a solid slab. Is anyone else having these issues? What's the best place to get this from if you're in the US?

I got the black one from amazon.ca, I also got the picture disc edition from invada's web store. I don't have the audiophile equipment needed to really compare the quality but if you really want the black one, amazon has some

I've just heard that most picture discs are noisier than regular vinyl (more surface noise). Given that this is quieter than say a rock album, I'd rather stay away from the picture disc. If someone has it and can comment on it's sound quality, that's be great.

Can someone tell me how the white version of Invada's Solaris sounds?

I think it sounds fine. To my ears it might as well have been black vinyl. Unlike most people (it seems), I'm that crazy about the score itself, though.

Re-animated Cat, i know your not a huge fan of our label reading some of the posts / comments youve said about Invada on this forum -


but just so you know the white vinyl is probably the best quality of the pressing i would say. Its a relatively heavy record and for some reason has quite a lot of depth in the sound. I agree - normally colour variants aren't anywhere near as clinical as black but in this instance i actually rate the white. We have found more translucent colours produce more surface noise as opposed to say a solid white or a marble effect

the black is sold out - but there may be some copies in France - as the distributer we used at the time didnt ship all-
they are called Differ-ant'. Im not sure whether these will ever be shipped back to Cargo UK or whether they will stay in France

@Invada: Thanks for chiming in. Not sure what gave you that impression - sure, I've probably been critical of your marketing for say, 'Drive' (endless represses etc), but I'm certainly no hater.

Thanks for your view on the white Solaris. I'm even more curious to hear it now!

Anyway, I've grabbed a white copy - really looking forward to it
