Lunchtime vibes... Just a wonderful Ortolani score and surely deserving of a loving reissue.

Is he riffing on Umiliani's bass line for Lady Magnolia here? I still don't know whether Umiliani or Pink Floyd should get credit for it--anyone know for sure which one came first?

Classic, but as much as I love having an original the Finders Keepers repress is the way to go. Check out the crazy EQ settings I have to use to cut down the shrill highs, boost the lows and get a balanced sound out of the LP.

I'm spinning 'Musica Ed Elettronica' now, and it sounds good. The opening track 'Elektron Chor' is bat shit crazy! ;)

i like this LP a lot. did not play it for a while. this is the type of record that i would expect to see being reissued by Intervallo...

did not see this one being posted here by now. @Oiche: where you at? :)

really like this and played it maybe 10 times already. my kids always keep coming into the living room asking where the animals are, haha. apparently many people compare this to Basil Kirchin's WWW records but i always thought these are a little unpleasant to listen to. the Circle Of Light is smooth like butter though.

ordered black vinyl and got clear. weird...maybe this has something to do with the Circle Of Light, haha!

From the same Discogs seller (to spread the shipping fee)...

If you've ever wondered what Edda Dell'Orso warbling over classic Morricone themes done in the style of disco meets Wendy Carlos might sound like... this should satisfy your curiosity!

We all need a bit of disco Edda in our lives!

Don't fight it! :)

@Spun - Awesome scoops! I would love to own a copy of the Nicolai. I do have Edda's Classical Machine though, and I agree that it's a real treat (that I like to call "Edda Worship"). ;)

Also, the back of that LP sleeve is the only place I have ever seen a printed copy of her famous headshot photo. If anybody knows where I could buy an autographed 8x10" glossy of that one...

@deafmetal

Yeah, had been after the Nicolai for a while, never went below £80 to £100 online until now typically - the seller said he is having a 'closing down sale', so fortunate for me.

Don't know about the rest of you, but it's always when you've said to yourself that you *don't* want to spend any more money this month that you unexpectedly get a Discogs email alert with one of your wants at a price 'too good to turn down'. :)

Oh man, so true. And what gets me are the bulk buys to get better deals and save on shipping. they're big buys and kill my budget!!!

Really need to cop that rendezvous though, super nice and very dark Nicolai!!! Very nice pickup, spun!!
