@deaf @Spun

I played a track at the end of the last DFC, it's a re-issue of an LP by Alexandr Zatsepin on Melodiya, originally from '74. He's a Russian composer who worked in soundtracks a fair bit...I'm (quietly) giving up my most precious gold here:

And yes, in that middle one ("Shaman Dance") you ARE hearing scratching on a tune from 1974!! :O

Some good posts there DrRhythm

Love the track on the clear yellow vinyl of the Not Waving LP: 'Negative Reinforcement', especially when the synth lines cut in about two minutes 10 secs...LINK TO AUDIO

@disco... thanks for posting those links, that LP does sound 'out of this world' in a literal sense

Have also been checking this 'Terminal Island' vinyl EP out from Ubre Blanca as hadn't heard of them before their Giallo Disco release. This came before and is even better to my ears (available via Discogs).. the cover leads you to expect some Ibiza trance record, but is better described as 'Carpenter goes disco':

It's very good.

Found this for 15$USD shipped. Worth adding to my small Tyler Bates collection, with Dawn of the Dead, Killzone Shadow Fall and Guardians of the Galaxy.

@nathan, agree, it's a pretty good score, just with some of the queues were longer.

Great score....we didn't even get past Hellraiser in our chat with Chris, so we'll definitely be speaking with him again and talking about specific scores such as Trick or Treat, Invaders from Mars, Jennifer 8, The Fly II and beyond! Such a cool guy.

Btw - Can anyone help, I'm going nuts!

Re-watched Hellraiser after our chat and then listened to the score - there's one cue that I'm absolutely convinced is strikingly similar to another piece of music, and it's driving me frickin insane! Talk about tip-of-my-tongue....

It's the cue "In Love's Name" which you can hear the specific point I'm talking about in this video from 21'07" - 21'52":

Am I going crazy then, or is that almost exactly like something else? At first I thought either Alien or Aliens..then Bartok from The Shining...but they're each significantly different, if quite similar.

I'm probably being a complete goof here....anyone got any ideas??

Hey Tim ! Good stuff with the Mangiati Vivi and Great Alligator
! Very cool releases with good artwork and screencaps on the back.
I thought you had those releases before, it's good that you have them now

@nathan, they are the first releases I've gotten from Private Records and I agree, very nice sleeve artwork. Shipping was quick also, only 2 weeks. I'm glad I bit and got these; I'm really going to enjoy them.

@disco - I get some vibes from Goldsmith's Alien, but no exact matches for me.
