haven't seen any laserdiscs out in the wild for a while now. Honestly I probably would have grabbed that though. :)

The shop has gotten into selling them over the last year or so, it used to just be a table with a few crates, now they have a 6ft "just in" bin and about 12ft of racks on the wall just loaded up with them

The people I know that actually collect laserdiscs these days do it bc there's a lot of Asian films locked on that format. I personally have enough junk (ie records, dvds, blurays) taking up space I don't need another thing. Plus finding a good functioning laserdisc player these days is a bit of a challenge as well

Ah, right - yes, I used to have quite a few HK / Golden Harvest films on LD and realized later on that I couldn‘t get hold of them in a „better“ format. But then again, I had sold my player and almost all my discs and didn‘t regret that. Now I saw that Shout factory got the rights for the Golden Harvest films (at least some of them), so the John Woo classics etc. will finally be available in 4K

Yeah that's huge, that library has so many gems. I can't wait to see the Woo films in proper HD as a lot of the older scans are just bad. A Better Tomorrow got a good 4K transfer in Japan at least but I never picked it up as it was over $90
