Looked up Science Fiction Italian Style...looks like a fantastic reference for a helluva "need to watch" list....

Catacombs of Film Essay in Weird Fiction Review No 12 entitled How Jessica Scared US All To Death by John Llewellyn Probert, while discussing the soundtrack:

"An 'unofficial' vinyl lp of the Stoeber/Sear soundtrack was released in the UK in November 2019 on the Blow Out Recordings label, with side A consisting of a fourteen minute composite of their score and Side B boasting rare themes from other low budget horrors including Death Bed (1977), The Legendary Curse of Lemora (1973) and Deathdream (1974). Apparently this edition was limited to an ultra-low twenty-four copies, so good luck finding one."

Totally unrelated to that but relevant to the topic, I'm reading Dilla Time which is a biography of J Dilla. It's a fascinating read, I'm not much a bio reader but this one was a must for me as I love his production but actually don't know much about him, just internet hearsay over the years

It is a great book. Need to delve in more. It is divided into chapters around a theme. For instance: Italians in space, Science goes mad and Aliens are among us.
See attached screenshot for a small example.

At the end of the book all movie titles that were mentioned are chronologically arranged.

@Inks...did you ever finish this one? I started it late last year but put it down for some reason, I was busy and it wasn't grabbing me in the first 50 paged or so....but I've been eyeing my copy and contemplating picking it back up....

I did, actually about a week after posting that. It sucked me right in, the fastest I've finished a book in a while. I loved it, it's up there with The Only Good Indians as one of my favorites of the last few years.

Heard a rumor King was planning on writing the third book on his own. Time will tell.

So my wife really wanted a new big bookcase so I decided to build one that takes up the entire wall. A few minor headaches along the way but I planned the hell out of this and it came together quite quickly (aside from the bottom cabinets which took 2 cancelled orders and 3 months of waiting to arrive). I threw in a before pic as well so you could see what it looked like previously

Wow. Incredible job, I'm insanely envious of the new shelves and all that space. You put in some time on that project, it really classes up the area. Really, truly, incredibly jealous right now haha.

Nice Steadman collection up there as well. That Alice In Wonderland is one of my favorite editions of that particular book. All the best 👌

Thanks @chuggers. I was a huge Steadman nut for a while, I was collecting all sorts of books with his illustrations. When I was in college he was a huge inspiration for my illustration style, while I never did the exaggerated characters or splattery ink everywhere I did find that my preferred media is water color and ink. I also have the very large The Curse of Lono as you can see in the upper right of the second picture but it doesn't fit on the new shelves lol. That book is stupidly large.

I need to revisit this book. I remember really enjoying it but not much about it.

I need to find a copy of CEREMONIES myself.

I picked up a stack of old Stephen King a few weeks ago and fully intended on The SHINING being first up in what would all be re-reads from the early 90's...then I read a few pages of both that and MISERY and never put the latter book down. Havn't read it since it was originally published, haven't actually read King since '95 when I put down INSOMNIA. But man, this re-read...I'm thoroughly enjoying through the eyes of a 47 year old vs who I was originally reading as a teenager

I'm going to dive into some of King's shorts after I finish The Ceremonies, I like you did most of my King reading in my teenage years. A few random books here and there over the years. I think the last one I read was The Outsider?

I've heard good things about the Outsider. Mostly due to the show I think but I've not seem that either.

I picked up MISERY, the Shining, Cycle of the Werewolf and Revival. They'd all be rereads except for Revival. I've also been slowly accumulating the Gunslinger series. I don't think I made it past the 3rd or 4th one back then.

The Darktower series is one I read much later and I loved the books I read (1-5), I started book 6 but it didn't grab me and I dropped it. I keep meaning to get back to it, it's been so long I'd have to restart the book entirely.

I picked up Night Shift and Skeleton Crew recently, excited to dive into them as it's been so long.

I do recommend reading The Outsider, I thought it was quite good.

I really liked The Institute.

Also read the Mr Mercedes trilogy and found most of it pretty enjoyable.
