Went to ship a box to France today. The rates went up again! $23.50 for up to 0.9 kg, $35.75 for 0.9 to 1.35 kg, $51.50 for 1.35 to 1.8 kg, and anything higher is Priority only which starts at $57.25. Ouch. On the flip side, all of that increase is absorbed by foreign currency gains vs the dollar.

Yet still the least expensive option for shipping a vinyl LP compared to all other shipping companies. They have us in a corner.

Looks like effective 7/15/2020 USPS will no longer allow negotiated rates more than 8% below retail. That's a big change. For example previously discogs international rates were about 30% below retail with discogs passing that discount through to sellers. That is gone, now the rates are basically retail once you account for PayPal fees.

Did I mention Trump has now installed a majority of USPS board including postmaster general... One of his very top donors is the head of fed ex. Trump has said he wants to see parcel rates increase by two or three times.

They’re trying to kill the USPS. November can’t come fast enough.
