Rochefort is fantastic! Most trapist breweries brew great blonde and dark ales. But for me Rochefort is one of my all time favorites.

Easter beer.
This one actually kind of works.
A solid, slightly fruity IPA, but with a very vanilla aftertaste. I see what they were going for with this.
Plus, bonus points for the Arrested Development reference.

My daughter always gets angry/confused when I call them candy beans. :)

Pop quiz, hot shots! How many of the World's 14 Trappist breweries are in Belgium. Bonus points for names. Double bonus points if you know names and/or locations of the others. I obviously can't stop you from cheating, but - c'mon - don't cheat. Plus you know I'll know if you do.

Great stuff.
That is a nice one. I love Buxton. Had one from their Lupulus X line yesterday.
It was after seeing buxton in your wall of beer that I decided to pick it up, was not disappointed 😉

@mateo no idea what so ever, can't believe there are only 11

Gah! I fat fingered that there are 14! I'll edit my original post. Until about a decade ago, there were...less.

Pantomime Mixtures - Thumbprint - Barrel Aged Wild Ale with Yellow Cherries

My brother usually grabs a bottle or two of Pantomime for us to drink when we get together every few months. They have quickly become my favorite local brewery. Generally wild ales on the sour side. They have all been fantastic. This one is no exception.

I'm definitely going to be doing this when my kid is old enough to be annoyed by such things.

Out of my head.

La Trappe: Netherlands
Spencer: I forgot. UK?
In France there is one I think.

I think there are 6 in Belgium
Belgium:
Westvleteren
Rochefort
Chimay
Westmalle

There are more Abbey breweries that are not Trappist. St. Bernardus I think is not Trappist.

Fuck I am bad at this. I should know more of them.
I feel the urge to cheat now...
I won’t.

Fuck fuck fuck. I feel stupid now. I have had one of each Belgian Trappist brewery at one point.

Fuck. I have had my fair share of Orval. But forgot it was a Trappist.
So 5 in Belgium...
I looked this up just now because I couldn’t stand the hole in memory.
And Achel... brilliant beer. Did not know they are an official Trappist anymore.
Reading up on the ATP stuff is crazy. So much happened in the last 15 years.

Yeah, I can never remember tham all either. there are six Belgians (Westmalle, Westvleteren, Chimay, Orval, Achel, and Rochefort), an old one and a new one in the Netherlands (La Trappe and Zundert, repectively), an old French one that I never remember (Mont des Cats), Cerveza Cardeña Trappist in Spain which I've never heard of, Stift Engelszell which I didn't know about, and then Tre Fontane in Italy which is actually a pretty hot ticket in the States, St Joeseph's in the US, and Mount St Bernard in the UK. Six of those have been formed since 2010. I never recall Stift Engelszell, Cerveza Cardena, and Cat Mountain. The others I have on speed dial.

Little Beast made their bones on award-winning barrel-aged sours. Then lagers. And now, IPAs. This one is dry, crisp, and clean. Citra, Lemondrop, and cryo Centennial good give this flavors of grapefruit, lemon, grass, and a piney finish.

@mateo, that sounds absolutely fantastic.

I've been slowly sipping on this. I have been both razzled and dazzled while drinking.

Picked this one up because of the can.
The beer itself (double NEIPA w/ tupelo honey) wasn't great.

I love every beer I've had from these guys. My brother keeps picking me up a bottle or two when he visits Ithaca so I'm very grateful for that.
