Spinning Carpenter today in honor of the man's 67th birthday! What's your fav flick/score
I'm gonna go out on a limb hear and say that the Big Trouble in Little China score is terribly underrated.
as for fav flick....i don't even know why i bothered to ask a question i can't answer myself...he's my fav of all time.

Happy Birthday to the horror master. So many great films and scores. Big Trouble has always been a favorite film of mine. It's such a great mix of influences and genres. As for scores, Prince of Darkness is hitting all the right buttons for me lately, but I change my mind all the time on favorite score. Too many great ones to choose from.

Happy birthday to JC. Obviously not an easy choice and neither wins in a landslide, but top film is The Thing and best score is Halloween III. There I've said it. No going back now.

For all you JC soundtrack fans... latest issue of The Wire magazine has extensive fascinating interview with John Carpenter talking soundtracks and discussing those influenced by his synth scores (Umberto etc)...
Also cover feature on Mica 'Under the Skin' Levi - so thought it would appeal to quite a few folks on this board...
