Are grading guidelines almost completely ignored? I have had a couple good experiences mostly from UK sellers. But I am basically done buying any used records from Italy or France. I have even had issues with German sellers sending me way over graded stuff.

I finally pulled the trigger on a copy of Evil Dead 2 for a decent price. The seller graded NM record, VG+ sleeve. The record is thrashed. It's been played a ton and has those small scuff scratches covering the entire record. The sleeve has big crease marks. Tons of edge wear. Multiple spots you can see the white cardboard underneath. Of course the seller is arguing that it's a stellar copy.

Really sucks because some of the more rare items I want only seem to be found in Europe, even American released soundtracks.

Well there are grading guidelines on discogs, so I don't think the country you bought from has anything to do with it, I buy on discogs from all over the world and in my experience most of the time the grading is adequate.

Does you Evil Dead 2 plays well at least ?

Yeah plenty of grading guides on Discogs and else where. It plays terrible. I wouldn't even grade it VG. I guess I am just really specific with the records I sell and buy and I will let it go if it's close but to many are so far off on grading it's crazy.

Not just Europe but also on the mainland I've had issues with peoples understanding of VG+ to the point where I don't think id ever buy a G+ record from there.

I will say I've never had an issue with NM/NM- copies. Only recently I bought Jon Brooks Shapwick from France and it is perfect.

Very hard to trust sellers, when I was selling something, i send photos of the covers, the vinyl, inserts...everything.

I can understand that you are angry about that, but believe me this has nothing to do with nationality. I have had dozens of smooth transactions with italian sellers and had on the other hand problems with some german sellers - but I would never say that this is a typical german problem!

Yes, agreed, it is a problem of honesty. Nothing to do with the country.
