I don’t think it makes a difference, I just have very tight shelves so I just slid the record between some big art books rather than create a stack on the floor.

I made a deal on Discogs today for NOES 1 + 2. I’m pretty pumped. NOES was one of my last major grails to get so I’m really happy. Now if anyone has any leads on a decently priced copy of Videodrome please let me know.

Does the vinyl flat just take care of minor warping? Will it handle more severe warpage? I would be worried a record would snap just trying to place it in the vinyl flat. I also noticed they sell a ton of replacement parts and they all seem like small pieces like washers and such. Have you had any issues

Went record shopping in NYC today, picked up raising Arizona/blood simple finally and The Burning (and some cramps boots, but that’s for another forum)

Nice grabs @hatter I love The Burning I spin my copy a lot. I still need pick up a copy of Raising Arizona/ Blood Simple. I never really think to look for it. I should really correct that.

These beauties showed up today. I was shocked how quick they got here. Omen 3 isn’t a VS but I bought it with the other two. I feel my goldsmith game is getting stronger though

Wowwwww.

Not VS related but eBay seller-related: I bought a grip of Capitol Hi-Q records on eBay last week and the seller claimed they “look totally unplayed, they’re like new”.

this is what shows up:

Maybe it’s “unplayed” but it’s surely been used as a frisbee in a heavily wooded area for a few years.

It was worse than I actually imagined lol. I can't imagine he'll ever sell that but who knows. People are weird.

Speaking of expensive records - I had no idea how expensive the original VS Halloween is getting. Just a few years ago, you could get a nice one for around $100. Tough to come by one that cheap now (at least the non-bar code version).

is the barcode a sticker? no right. mine has a sticker barcode but not a printed bar code. i got lucky on it for a little over $100 but it was definitely a snipe

Not sure. I noticed the copy I bought as a kid in the 80s (no bar code) was expensive now, but there’s a version on discogs with a barcode that’s for sale around $150 i think? but the version I have seems to be a lot pricier.

I used to look for a slightly better copy, as mine has a bit of noise on the first track, but it’s gotten way out of my price range.

I did not know there was a version with and one without a bar code. I bought my copy in the beginning of the year I believe. It was the cheapest copy available at that time from a seller in France. Still cost me 100 euro for a VG+ copy but I am very happy to have picked that one up. I does not appear to have a bar code but there is a sticker with a bar code from a shop on the bottom right corner on the back.
