Digging the sample tracks. I secretly hate you for releasing these right before the holidays, I'm already strapped for cash ;)

You guys are sharp as tacks... :)

Yep, two new cassettes up for order at Normans to wrap up the year and give your tape deck a present:

https://www.normanrecords.com/records/1 ... re-goddess

https://www.normanrecords.com/records/1 ... den-scenes

... will also have up on the Spun... Bandcamp very soon & for sale in the usual places. Cassettes in hand tomorrow so anyone who orders will have before Crimbo.

Official details as below:

Correlations’ Hidden Scenes album introduces brand new tracks inspired by the sessions for previous LP, Aftermath

Fizzing analogue synthesizers, woozy ambient electronica and catchy earworm melodies weave in and out of the mix on the latest limited tape release from the Spun Out Of Control label.

Inspired by the city of San Francisco, the album Hidden Scenes comprises brand new tracks originally composed and recorded during the same creative sessions that produced Correlations’ Aftermath LP, released on Spun Out Of Control in a limited vinyl pressing.

This cassette issue of Hidden Scenes (also available as a digital download) therefore forms an essential companion piece, ideal for atmospheric walks, drives and late night listening.

Cover and inlay artwork is by Eric Adrian Lee. Limited edition of 150 cassettes, split evenly between two tape shell colours mirroring the library music style cover art: Film Stock Silver or Dust Jacket Green (75 copies of each worldwide). Catalogue number: SOS 024.

Also by Correlations: Aftermath vinyl LP

Black Narcissus inspired electronic score is the latest cassette release for London label Spun Out Of Control

Electronic act Heresie makes his debut on Spun Out Of Control with a brand new synth score ‘Sisters Of The Bare Goddess’, inspired by Powell and Pressburger’s Technicolor classic, Black Narcissus, a dark tale of sexual desire and religion.

Fans of Blade Runner era Vangelis, Scorcerer period Tangerine Dream and, more recently, It Follows by Disasterpeace, will find much to enjoy in Heresie’s emotionally charged, fully electronic composition.

Cassette design is by Eric Adrian Lee. Limited edition of 150 cassettes, split evenly between two tape shell colours mirroring the cover and inlay art: Scarlet Woman (translucent red) or Seductress in Sea Green (75 copies of each worldwide). Catalogue number: SOS 023.

Heresie on his album Sisters Of The Bare Goddess:

Black Narcissus is a visually stunning Technicolor dream that turns into a nightmare. The film is like a moving painting; every scene is breathtakingly beautiful.

I am completely fascinated by the fact that such a strange and dark film exploring themes of sexuality so overtly was seen by a mainstream audience in the 1940s. The film starts off in a daze, progressively gets darker and by the final third descends into horror. My vision was that my album would reflect the tone of the film as it progresses.

Thanks @Bez!

Never know how fast releases will go, particularly when introducing a new artist.... but should be enough for those who get in early this eve... hopefully! :)

Sonically the two different releases work very well together as a unified listening experience. Pleased with how these came out.

And if anyone in the US is crying because 2HD is sold out, don't hesitate to purchase directly from the Spun bandcamp. The cost of buying the two cassettes and shipping to the US is a little more than a dollar more than buying the two cassettes without shipping from 2HD. I don't think 2HD does free shipping anymore for a small purchase, so it could be cheaper for US folks to buy from Spun, anyway. And you'll get the digital files faster and the cassettes shipped sooner.

I stopped ordering Spun and Burning Witch tapes from 2HD a long time ago, they sell out super fast, take at least twice as long to receive if not longer and the cost is negligble. I just buy directly from the bandcamp pages. Both tapes shipped to my door was $29. I got the colors I wanted, they always package well and I usually get it in less than two weeks.

Releases look great @Spun, I can't wait to get them. Sisters of the Bare Goddess sounds like it's going to be quite awesome.

With thanks to Spencer & the team.

A heads up for anyone who missed out on the Correlations 'Hidden Scenes' synth tape and Heresie's tribute to the film Black Narcissus in the shape of his 'Sisters of the Bare Goddess' album we released just before Christmas... and as reviewed in this month's Electronic Sound magazine.

Now orders have been received and enjoyed in the further flung places... we've stuck a bunch of spares we held back in case of loss or damage up on Bandcamp. Both colours of each available in ltd supply.
