Very humbled to be invited on one of those podcast things that Tony Giles, late of this parish, does for fun.

Listen here if you want to hear about starting a label, working with artists, buying too much vinyl and having to hide it from your wife and assorted nonsense... ;)

@Spun - I enjoyed the interview. The comments early on about "talking" to people online were very appropriate, as this was the first time I have heard your voice, even though we have been exchanging email for a few years now. Cheers!

@deaf - yes funny old business this virtual world and the way you can interact with people for ages and never actually meet. Thanks for listening in. ;)

In related business we have a couple of newbies prepared for Cassette Store Day next weekend 8/10/16. Ace design work once again by Eric Adrian Lee.

Both look stellar! Stoked to be able to listen to even more Themes International material. I admit I haven't been on the wagon with City Depths, but I will rectify that in the near-term.

I liked the podcast very much. Very nice to hear you talk Gavin. You do sound like the British gentleman you are.
And that bit about not being able to see the tapes when they are playing. I never thought about it because my tapedecks are all open, but of course most are not. I really like to be able to see the shell and your tapes do look fantastic.

Preview of the limited tapes (with digital downloads) we'll be releasing tomorrow for Cassette Store Day - both came out great!

Am a huge fan of classically trained composer Bryce Miller's synth based music and here he has delivered a very full sounding score with plenty of layers and (yes) 'depth'... for fans of Vangelis, NIN, Carpenter, Disasterpeace... you name it!

Can't say enough about how magnificent Themes International: The Lost Tapes sounds on high quality chrome tape (we went for a higher grade for both these releases for better sound reproduction) - it's like all the favourite bits of your record and tape collection rolled into one! Like synth scores, giallo movies, library music? We've got you covered...! Why 'Lost Tapes'? Because it includes a bunch of tracks re-recorded, mastered and generally tweaked, inspired by the greats (Francois De Roubaix, Carpenter, Cipriani, Serge Gainsbourg!!),that didn't make it onto the vinyl version released by Cineploit earlier this year. So if you already own that, this is very much the essential companion piece!

On sale via our Bandcamp from a minute past midnight tonight UK BST... Available via http://www.spunoutofcontrol.bandcamp.com or @twoheadeddogmusic or normanrecords.com

New tapes are landing with people...

Sure anyone who puts out music will share this, but the best part is seeing folks enjoying the fruit

Nice write-up, Spun. I don't know if Bryce comes 'round these parts, but, sweet Christmas, City Depths and WASP have gotten a lot o' play at mine this year. Good on you both.

Sweet Christmas, indeed. I also find myself listening to the digital files quite often at work for many of the titles on this excellent label. Repeated Viewing's Art Imitates album probably has the most plays so far.

NEW "KILLER" TAPE!!

On sale now folks... here's the press blurb:

Repeated Viewing’s gripping guitar and synthesizer score for Irish ‘Giallo’ thriller The Three Sisters gets an ‘Ultimate Edition’ tape release on Spun Out Of Control, the London based label dedicated to promoting emerging electronic musicians and soundtrack composers.

The cassette release of The Three Sisters – The Final Cut: Ultimate Edition collects together tracks from various vinyl & CD releases – including remixes from Antoni Maiovvi, Umberto, Vercetti Technicolor and Night Sequels – and adds new specially recorded bonus tracks from Repeated Viewing himself. In total there is 70 minutes of music on this new edition.

This is the third time Alan Sinclair – aka Repeated Viewing – has collaborated with the label on a release, following the sold out Street Force and Art Imitates tapes.

The Three Sisters – The Final Cut: Ultimate Edition is limited to 100 hand-numbered copies on pad-printed ‘giallo’ (yellow) & red colour split chrome cassette, the red and yellow shell mirroring the artwork and j-card design by artist Eric Adrian Lee (DeathWaltz/Mondo, Giallo Disco & Wil-Ru Records).

Repeated Viewing on ‘The Three Sisters – The Final Cut: Ultimate Edition’:

“This cassette release feels like the perfect way to offer an ‘Ultimate’ version of the tracks from The Three Sisters, tying myriad, multi format releases neatly together with a virtual bow and, in doing so, giving supporters of my music a definitive final version of what has been a very rewarding project.”

Two Headed Dog has already SOLD OUT but you can grab at our Bandcamp with very fair local & international shipping:

https://spunoutofcontrol.bandcamp.com

Our pals at Transmission also have a small allocation:
http://transmissionrecords.co.uk/shop/t ... e-edition/

Digital files included with every Bandcamp purchase & download card included with retail copies, so best of both worlds.

Love this album.
Same. This is how I want to hear this music. I bought it from 2HD instead of directly from Spun for (I think?) the first time. Looking forward to getting it home.

^ Beautiful, as ever. Not long got my wax copy direct from Herr Sinclair (love it!) so I'll have a wee think about whether I can spring for this too.

Always appreciate your attention to detail Gavin - colours on this shell especially are spot-the-fuck on! :)
#89633
Thanks chaps - yes Alan was keen to do a cassette version and the thinking was that, if we did, there was a bunch of stuff I'd want on there as as fan... so the remixes and new tracks too, either from the same sessions or which fitted the mood.

We ended up with 70 minutes of material, which is hopefully VFM. :)

The colour split not only references Eric Lee's artwork but also the ever present bottle of J&B scotch in giallo movies.

Good blog on its appearance here http://atrocitynights.com/JnB/JnB-Giallo.htm

That's the second J&B mention on STBC in as many days. Viral marketing is mild stuff.

Cheers guys... as well as a handful of tapes at Norman & Transmission, we've flown few extra over at request to Two Headed Dog in the US.

Literally it is a handful, so don't delay if you want one from this 2nd batch:
