@inks - I'm seeing your vid just fine dude. It's probably just the device you're browsing on - I can't see embedded vids in the forum on my old iMac for some reason, but they show up fine on my (also old) iphone 4s.

I got it to work. I just couldn't do it through my own means. I had to copy it from @mateo's post, then drop my own link in. It's so weird. And now after doing that it works fine when I try it myself.

So Seaside Lovers is going up for sale today at 12PM EST on Ship To Shore's website, their price is much more reasonable at $35. I'll be picking up a copy as soon as it goes on sale.

It’s always a sadness to see although who knows what’s behind it all. I drifted away from their releases once they went almost 100% vgm/joe bob related, but still dug that the label was keeping on after they were taken over (by I can’t recall who…) It is interesting that this closing down notice was the first post in their thread here in five years.

I definitely wasn't buying as much when they moved from horror/OST to VGM. But they stayed consistent with me, good shipping prices, quality pressings.

They had announced a Warehouse Moving Sale last month that ran indefinitely, so something tells me they were offloading what they could before shifting units to Materia.

Great label, won a test pressing of the Zombie/Frizzi 7inch from them a while back, and always had good communication from them.

I'm gonna be a naysayer here and disagree with you on this one. Their shipping prices for the last 2+ years (pretty much since their buyout) have been between $10-12 for media mail and they offered a "white glove" treatment for additional cost to package your stuff well lol. Their quality on jacket design on most of their VGM releases has been pretty mediocre and outright bad at times (Breath of Fire releases are some of the worst art I've ever seen). Pressing wise they stayed decent thought so I can't complain about that.

Their last few horror releases were all pretty damn good though, The Beyond, Dead & Buried and The House by the Cemetery. I was really hoping they would give us City of the Living Dead too

I'm bummed to see them go, they still seemed to get good licenses here and there. I recently bought their Contra Hard Corps which turned out quite good.

Damn, had I known I would've bought some stuff on that sale. Materia appears to be selling their VGM so I imagine TV or VS will pick up the horror scraps. But even TV isn't doing so hot now with their vinyl so who knows.

And yeah, bummer if City of the Living Dead was in the works but now dead in the water.

Yeah I grabbed a few things the first week of the sale but I regret not grabbing Bomberman 64. Weirdly enough they only had a few of their horror records on sale. I wanted to grab the Frizzi Joe Bob record but it wasn't on sale so I skipped it. Had I known they were closing I would I have grabbed it.

It's a bummer to hear that The Monster Squad record isn't selling well for TV but tbh their whole record division seems to have been put on the back burner. They released a new pre-order for an SOV film Slashers that was only for the mailing list then it popped up on the site many weeks later in a 2024 section with no announcement on social media, no discussion at all. They have a screen printed version of Spookies that is also in that section but it's not available to order through their wholesale for some odd reason. They haven't even mentioned records since last fall, they are so focused on their movies. Recently Ryan did post a TP playing of RotLD2 I believe.

So that's what it is! Nice. J.Peter Robinson's score is the ONLY decent thing about that gawdawful piece of crap.

I tried rewatching it a year or two ago thinking maybe I had misjudged it many years ago. Nope it's a terrible ass movie

Quote from Ryan Gravefacec:
"No one outside of the club buys our LPs so that in conjunction with our main pressing plant being behind a few months is why there’s been a lull. Most TV LP titles sell 200 copies at most. That’s barely enough to recoup the licensing cost let alone mastering, manufacturing etc. People definitely seem to appreciate blurays, cassettes, VHS more at this point in time. Doesn’t mean I’m getting out of it but it’s not exactly a motivator (spending years of my life and 10’s of thousands of dollars on a record that no one cares about). We have 28 OSTs licensed for LP release atm."

I have the feeling people are buying less and less soundtrack on vinyl. But I don't have any numbers to support it. I see Waxwork having sales constantly. Ship to Shore is gone. TV isn't doing great. And personally I cannot be bothered anymore with most new releases I see Mondo or now Mutant putting out. I don't care about scores to Netflix TV stuff or VGM. Wonka sucks.
I have a big order of records coming in this week containing a lot of Finders Keepers record that were sold new for €9,99.
I feel I am mostly buying new records when on sale or some specific Italian stuff that I am really interested in.
And there is Blowout Records that keeps stealing my money that I am not able to spend on other records...

Sad news. They were a good bunch and we were supportive of each others labels. Everyone is being hit hard. It’s not easygoing out there currently, that’s for sure.
