While part of me wishes that some of the Mondo or DW roster of artists could have a crack at fresh cover designs for these titles, the inclusion of the lobby cards and original artworks along with sleeve notes in the centre is where these AMS/Cinevox releases really excel... lovely packages

Agreed. I really enjoy seeing all the old lobby cards and artwork. I wish all of the OST reissues had something similar. Great work yet again.

We have already closed four new albums and two, the ones with my liner notes (while for all four I provided posters and lobbies), will have really beautiful new artworks. Incidentally just today I finished the draft of the liner notes for a another production…

The For A Few Dollars More was advertised on LITA as gold colored vinyl, but is in fact, purple, the same color as the Fistful of Dollars reissue. Haven't gotten a chance to play it yet, but the record was in between the gatefold sleeve in shipping, had broken through the polybag, and has a chip in the deadwax. Shouldn't effect the play, but a little frustrating. It looks like it happened on the way to LITA, as it couldn't have happened in the package I got as it was wrapped with plenty of bubble wrap.

The Italian distributor's website says purple vinyl for this release so don't think you were short changed.. the Django is gold, so perhaps just some confusion.

Holding out ordering these until the latest Morricone also shows up for sale - any news Red Goblin?

I listened to both the Django and For A Few Dollars More represses tonight. They both sound excellent, with quality mastering. I continue to be very impressed with the AMS releases.

Found the Django had a strange level of high hiss but nothing the equaliser couldn't fix. For a Few Dollars more sounds ace though.

'Machine Gun Mccain' should be out by February, they told me so two months ago. For this record I only provided the film memorabilia, to be honest it is not one of my favorite Morricone and even though I know anecdotes about the film I did not write the liner notes.
Often from the closing of a work to its release pass six months. There are six albums 'ready' and I really do not know when they will come out, the only fixed date is RSD 2015.
Sometimes when the LP is finally published I have a surprise, like discovering that for Django they have published the Italian version of the liner notes and not the English one as I had recommended...

Shame they have missed off the English liner notes for Django - the second time that has happened after 'Almost human' - and especially since they are one of the features that I enjoy the most, along with the printed card showing the old posters and memorabilia of course.

I shall obviously have to learn more Italian.

My wish is that titles that have yet to see a vinyl release would be more the focus, instead of repackaging yet again FISTFUL OF DOLLARS/FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE, ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST, ESCALATION, etc., etc. In these instances, you can buy the CD and get more music than the vinyl (except for ESCALATION-same tracks), and then Google the film to see loads of movie graphics.

The upcoming release of Morricone's SPASMO by Dagored (Hand Edition - clear blue vinyl & Mouth Edition - electric blue vinyl) is a nice example of a score that's been on CD, but getting it's premiere vinyl lp release.

The vinyl ost market is now getting a little busy, and titles that are still around on vinyl & now CD 40-50 years after their initial releases need not be recycled once again, for the sake of new packaging but less music than what is now commercially available.

Granted that I’m not the one who chooses the album to be published by AMS, I agree with you and I'd prefer to release soundtracks never published before (and I have a HUGE list, believe me), but I have to say that 90% of the releases by the labels present in this forum are reprints.
Fistful Of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, Django, Phenomena, etc. have different track listings and new graphics.
It makes no sense to say that is possible to find the movie posters on Internet, because those images are a bonus and is very different to have them printed on a poster.
“Il mio nome è Nessuno” is not rare (but a copy of the original Italian release costs more than 50 Euros for sure) and no one will be 'forced' to buy it since AMS has no Club, no subscriver, no random vinyl, no random release times to increase the collector’s frenzy.

Bingo. And it expands the market to make room for more obscure, yet disireble, releases. Not to mention making them financially viable! A few thousand copies of Fistfull of Dollars pays for a few hundred of something less famous, but more in the wheelhouse of a die hard enthusiast with an established collection.
