Losing my shit over “Almost Human”, this one’s a serious holy grail for me
'Milano odia' is released for the very first time on vinyl.
A cruel crime drama with a devastating Tomas Milian that outlines the figure of a villain, Giulio Sacchi, unnecessarily iperviolent, coward, drug addicted and exploitative.
For this reason I entitled mu liner notes (this time only in Italian, I'm sorry) 'Giulio Sacchi deve morire' 'Giulio Sacchi must die'.

Orange w/ black streak variant of 'Once Upon..' still available through LITA.
Really looking forward to it - hoping the poster mirrors the cover art, it looks fantastic.

"this time only in Italian" - How come?
Your liner notes for the last couple releases have been great. Any chance of a digital translated version or do I need to order the Rossetta Stone How to speak Italian (think they have a vinyl version, haha)
“this time only in Italian” – How come?
I take this opportunity to clarify some aspects.
I'm not part of AMS / BTF, my collaboration is purely friendly. I love and collect records for decades and I hope to make these products better than they would be without my contribution.
The manager of the label was one of the first to buy my book and he asked me if I had iconographic material and ideas for projects that he had already in production.
At first my involvement was ‘at the very last second’ with covers and vinyl already in printing, this is what happened with ‘Buio omega’, ‘5 bambole per la luna d’agosto’ and ‘4 mosche di velluto grigio’, releases for which I could only supply the posters used in the inserts. For ‘Buio omega’ I also managed to correct the credits that were wrong and for this album the pictures were used for the inner gatefold cover. I’m sorry since I had a lot of ideas for these albums, both with regard to the liner notes (with many juicy anecdotes) and the way to best realize them.
At this point, AMS asked me if I had any original projects regarding Goblin and I suggested five projects that would blow Goblin’s fans minds, three new albums with unreleased material from the golden age of the band and two very original reissues. Of these projects, up to now the only one that has been realized is the reissue of ‘Amo non amo' that is, from many points of view, an original album, as it contains for the first time the complete score and has new graphics. I followed this project in more depth but a few things that I suggested were not made, first of all the remastering, as Side 1 sounds less good than Side 2, a fault of the Cinevox’ CD.
AMS’ boss then gave me a list of soundtracks in license and we agreed a Work Plan for 2014, so I started collecting ideas and material. But that Plan fell through immediately, because at the last second I was called upon the releases for the Record Store Day (45 rpm ‘Profondo rosso’, 'Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo') and ‘Il gatto a nove code’ and then for ‘Per un pugno di dollari’, ‘C’era una volta il West’ and ‘Milano odia’, all albums that were not on the original list (I mean the basic list, not the one for 2014!). For all these albums I provided the iconographic material (from a minimum of 20 up to 100 photos for each title, all ‘ready for use’). In practice, the only two albums released in 2014 planned from the beginning were ‘The Bird with the Crystal Plumage’ and ‘Phenomena’, those that I could take better care of. In addition to providing the iconographic material (and the original album covers: for ‘The bird’ the covers of the first Italian and US editions, the latter reported in full size in the inner gatefold) and the liner notes, I also optimized the audio files. For ‘Bird’ I used the stereo versions of the tracks (for the first time on vinyl) and for ‘Phenomena’ I chose the tracks, prepared the playlist and I edited Fabio Pignatelli’s Insects.
With regard to the liner notes, for ‘Bird’ I insisted on including also the English version of the text since the graphic designer wanted to give a total Italian look to the album. Even the cover has been overturned, originally the posters were showed inside the inner gatefold with the cover of the US album and the liner notes on the insert, which meant that in the subsequent editions (without the insert and the colored vinyl) they wouldn’t be present.
For ‘Milano odia’ I wrote the draft of the liner notes in Italian and I sent it to the label to know whether they liked them or not. I received no reply and I found the liner notes directly in the final draft of the cover, so that’s why they’re only in Italian!!
I do the translations by myself with Max Velevet’s final reading and help. Thanks Max, my friend!

@Red Goblin

Sounds like you are doing the best possible job with the re-issues.

I only have ‘The Bird with the Crystal Plumage’ and ‘Il gatto a nove code’ so far, but have been impressed with the complete package.

Featuring pictures in the gatefold of the original movie posters really brings them to life, so hope your efforts get properly appreciated by the label!

Actually, being a writer by trade, happy to help with any English proofing in the future!

@maxvelvet

Thanks for the heads up - ordered. Hope these releases will be as classily executed as Bird with the Crystal Plummage and Cat o' Nine Tails....

This is what I like, no sales limited to Conventions or location, those who have paid more for sub offers, or only people with red hair - if you want the product it's simply first come, first served, job done.

Forgive me if someone has already posted a shot of this colour way... just arrived today and doing the business at Spun Towers:

Described as Deluxe Yellow Mixed LP... I would say 'dirty yellow with black streaks', looks slightly green in a certain light. Anyway, sounds fine on the turntable.
