That's too bad. I've never had any trouble with shipping damage from them though they only have to travel 200 miles. The Amazon 'frustration free' type LP mailers they use are wide and usually do a good job of preventing corner dings. Maybe they'd refund your shipping if you send a pic of the damage.

I had two seam splits at one point (and Mondo sent new covers without hassle), but other that that I've never had any problems - and they have to travel more than 5,000 miles in my case...

Incidentally, this one (along with a black copy) just turned up today:

Hey guys, don't miss my point here. I was not putting down the release as a whole. I think it is a fantastic score and I am really happy to own it on wax. There is just an absolute proper surefire way to ship records, and that is to take the vinyl out of the packaging, leave them in there inner-sleeves, and place them both behind the record, preferably in a plastic sleeve with the outer packaging so everything is nice and secure. This prevents seam splits, ring ware, and this works every time, and all I am saying, I wish the option was available like it is over at Sound Stage Direct. If you order from them they give you the option (at least they did when I ordered the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack) to have the record opened, and shipped like this. My overall point was that I wish more of these new forward thinking company's would implement this so it was not a game of Russian roulette. To have to receive a second album packaging in the mail is awesome if it is hassle free, but lets be honest here, something you buy should not be damaged when you get it.

I did not even mention the scratch on the record that looks like someone touched it up with a small bit of sandpaper. I need to figure out how to post photos in this forum. This is actually only my second post.

I think Steven Price's scores for "Attack the Block" and "At World's End" are both amazing and much more fun than Gravity as a stand-alone listen, although the latter obviously contributed hugely to the film. I'll pass on Gravity, but I'd be very happy if someone sees some coin to be made from pressing up the other two!

@zach

I am baffled how new albums can arrive with scratches on them. I recently purchase Eaten Alive OST and had to return both times as they were awful, they looked like ice rinks, yet the guy who sent them, had packaged them well, out of sleeve, good outer packaging but said they must of happened at the manufacturers like that.

I'm waiting on Gravity myself to the UK, so fingers crossed, although to be fair The Omen arrived fine.

Great looking vinyl Rasmus! Sorry to hear your problems Zach. I understand your frustrations and I love the option you speak of with soundstage. In fact, I take advantage of that opportunity (even though it delays your shipping a tad) and ask other people when I order to do so even if it isn't an option to see what happens. So far, I have yet to have that service applied. LOL. I think mondo could just use higher quality mailers and that would help... and let's face it. Some people in the shipping/mailing industry just don't give a $hit about your package. They drop and throw things. They put packages that say "this side up" pointing down. Fragile packages are in the middle or at the bottom of the pile. Bad things happen. You just have to hope the record company will fix the error. Most of them do a great job; some don't.

Sounds like they're planning on not making the toys quite so limited (thankfully):

"His dream is to one day branch out from limited-edition merchandise and be the company that puts high-quality, detailed and innovative toys in places such as Target so collectors like himself don't have to settle for what's there."

But I'm sure it'll take a while for the flippers to realize this ;)

To me this is just becoming too much...too obsessive over collecting. Limited this, collectors edition that...I mean fuck...how much STUFF do we need to own of the ninja turtles or whatever other comic character you want to name?? I'm just getting sick of everyone being a "true" fan or a "collector," when it's just people buying stuff...news flash, you're a consumer just like anyone else!!

I'm being funny - but really this is just too much collectible shit for me. I highly doubt I'll have any interest in Mondo toys.

Finally have mine in hand. Mine came in good shape, minus some ring wear (how were these stored and shipped?) Much to my surprise, they actually remembered to include two sleeves for my damaged omen from what seems like decades ago. They never sent them with my replacement jacket and at the time, it seemed like a good idea to just say "No need to mail another package; just toss them in with gravity to save you guys on the shipping." BAHAHA. Big mistake on my part. LOL. Anywho, I actually got a variant this time around, which I would like to think is a belated birthday present since this was ordered around my birthday. :D Now I am like 2 for 10 I think. I just upped my ratio. Whoot whoot!

With all this Mondo-dissing/upset I'm getting the feeling that now isn't the best time to be thinking about selling off some of the releases I have.

Tough times mean at home mean I'm being forced to pare down the collection to cover the bills. There's a red copy of Chattaway's Maniac and the blue The Beyond teetering on the exit pile... Maybe I need to hold off?

Nah, if yours are in good shape, why wouldn't you? Just because people are having issues with mondo, I don't think that would come into play with YOU. I say SELL, which you already are ;)!

Sorry... my hand's been forced on this sale thanks to a minor £ situation at home.

FYI - a guy approached me with a good offer for the two of them so at the moment it looks like their headed to Belgium...
