I love THE THE! Infected and Soul Mining are classic albums. Great to see them back...and on Death Waltz!!

I saw this film last summer, I immediately thought the score would soon be on the Death Waltz radar. Some very nice synth work, a really a big part of the film as a whole.

I'm really excited about this, I love The The, and to have this coming out on Death Waltz is an excellent pairing. The sample above sounds great.

I hope Matt Johnson comes out with a regular album sometime soon, it's been 15 years!

New interview with Matt Johnson talking about this soundtrack..

Does DW have plans to also re-issue his earlier soundtracks for Tony and Moonbug on vinyl? The CDs he is selling himself look pretty cool with their booklets.

Apparently he's working on a new conventional The The album too.

See Spencer has been up to his typically teasing tricks on Twitter....

Sounds like a lavish DW package coming soon with leatherette style cover & booklet for this one - been holding off buying the CD direct from Matt, so hoping some of these LPs will make it to the UK and/or Transmission?

@macready... thanks for the reminder about this - very interesting listen - seems like a humble & thoughtful guy. Fingers crossed for that live tour to go with the new album in 2016. And yeah, the interview did take a weird turn at the end with the fruit & vegetable phobia admission (the presenter not Matt Johnson)

@ Spun - yeah haven't actually heard him being interviewed before, just read some features in NME and Melody Maker back in the day, but he comes across as incredibly genuine. I knew he had worked in the music industry from a young age but didn't know it was with de Wolfe - fascinating. And that track from Hyena is simply stunning.

have to say Matt is a really lovely guy, I was a tiny bit starstruck sat round his house listening to our version of Assault On Precinct 13 as Soul Mining is probably one of my favourite albums of all time.
He's a joy to work with and a lovely fella to have a cuppa with. This score is incredible and I cant wait for not only the new record but also finally The Pornography Of Despair etc .

The Pornography Of Despair is finally being released? Wow. I assume Gun Sluts, and the other unreleased material will be coming out eventually too? Exciting. Forgive me if this was covered in the interview above, I haven't been able to listen to it yet. So much good stuff from him to look forward too.

p.s. if someone has a copy of The The's Dusk album on vinyl for sale for a decent price, let me know :)

Reminds me of the texture Varese used on some of their jackets. Looks good! :)

Looks fantastic. I have the "Simply Vinyl" issue of "The Godfather" soundtrack with similar creased texture...
