Who wants to play? Just name your film title in reply on this thread (one guess per customer...I guess?) Maybe we can cajole Spencer into dishing out a small prize to the winning guesser?? ;)

Okay - so far we have the following clues:

1. It's over 30 years old;
2. Award winning composer;
3. Will blow our minds!

(NOTE: THESE CLUES HAVE BEEN SOMEWHAT "CHINESE WHISPERED"....ZOOM DOWN TO SPENCER'S COMMENTS BELOW BEFORE YOU MAKE YER GUESS!)

(I would venture another possible clue, which I'm gonna choose to ignore with my own guess: the direction that SH has been taking the label recently, focusing on less well-known titles/films?)

So, with all that in mind - here's a list of horror films released in '83:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ho ... ms_of_1983

And here's a list of science fiction flicks from the same year:

Yes, I've made an assumption there in choosing to be so literal about "over 30 years old".......you make your own deductions and play along!

I'll start the ball rolling......let's go!

(oh, and just for extra fun I've made my guess a link to a nice cue from the score ;)

Wow Brenton... I've seen a lot of gore in my field and that was just "Uck". Too early for me. LOL. Maybe I am overly sensitive from my migraine. I liked seeing the lens from his glasses flying at the screen though; nice touch.

My choice: Swamp Thing :) I don't know if it will blow your mind, but it could be cool.

The Thing. Double record. Morricone and Carpenter & Howarth.

I'd say discosucks is on the money though

Feel from those three clues that it is Scanners, but in the spirit of the game I'll say Altered States.

I don't think I said 'Award winning composer'

for this release think ...

a film that is celbrating it anniversary this year (I never said 30th) I said over 30 years old

has never been released on vinyl in full

will (hopefully) blow your minds

I'll give away a test pressing if anyone gets it....

Hmmm. My official guess is Donaggio's Tourist Trap. Celebrating it's 35th anniversary this year :)

Hmmm....would be so great. But isn't the Varese release the full score?

Disco should everyone be limited to one guess? To keep it interesting :)

@Static - I reckon so!

But -- the guessing-game is reset from Spencer's comment! ;)

I'm gonna say Zombi Holocaust. Nico Fidenco.

Pretty sure Cannibal Holocaust is a no-go, rights wise.

Just to back up my contribution - Shogun Assassin is 34 this year, but of course is actually a compilation of older films. The soundtrack never received a full release, only a limited promo. It's also VERY popular. Makes sense to me ;)

One guess per person then? Fun fun!
