I saw the link to that on their Facebook page the other day, great to see a few of this considering it's such a small release. I think I'm going to get one actually. I've been listening to an MP3 copy I downloaded, which doesn't sound that great, but I've warmed to the music (sorry, I still think Beyond is better) so it would be interesting to hear the alternate versions since they are exclusive to their release. I emailed Jay at Priv4te asking about the new colors but haven't heard anything back yet. So are their two new versions of blue and clear, or is it a blue/clear mix?

@dumaisaudio - I'm not sure if its a mix or 2 separate variants. I never thought to ask, I was just glad he had some new stock coming in lol. Let us know if he gets back to you with the answer to that one please :)

@thenuthouse - Nice review! Glad the audio is stella (excuse the pun :p). I know Priv4te don't add too many bells and whistles but I like the quality of the packages they put out, the posters are a nice addition, and as much as I like some of the new artwork commissioned by DW, Waxwork and Mondo et al, I'm a traditionalist at heart so I get a kick out of seeing the original poster art on Priv4te's releases.

@dumaisaudio CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD came today and I can confirm, if you don't already know, its solid blue so I'm guessing the other one is 'solid' clear; no mix of the two. It also came with two posters which I'm pleased about. Haven't spun it yet!

It is. Mine says 031 on the back.

Ps. Sorry for gatecrashing this Death Waltz release thread with all this talk about Private's release, but I don't think Private Records have their own thread.

I missed the copies at LITA (slept in today), but I was able to get one from DW before they sold out. I am pretty stoked about that.

Can we please get more information on the download? What format will the files be in? Flac? WAV? mp3? When will the download be available for those that pre-ordered?

So does the deluxe gatefold version have any extra tracks? I can't seem to tell from any of the listings anywhere?

orbtastic: Probably not, the tracklistings have always been the same no matter what version.

The DW vinyl includes one bonus track (appears on the new Beat cd too) the live suite of "City of the living dead".
The track list is the same than the new Beat cd reissue.

I suppose there is no definitive info on the download (availability and format)for this release? I'd asked a few times, with no luck. Would love to get an answer. A simple "we don't know yet" would actually help. :)

Hi @esteban - from what I know the subbers for subscription 4 have received or should have had a WAV format download (I got mine Saturday) As for people who bought the deluxe version I'm not sure at all.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks, Tony. I did not receive any download link yet. I did buy the Deluxe edition on Saturday as well. It'd be nice if Spencer could answer this. I'm glad that the format of choice is WAV. Can't beat that.

@esteban - are you a subscriber? I'm pretty sure access to downloads are exclusive to subbers, and aren't included with any DW titles, unless you know something I don't.

I am not a subscriber. I was not aware you needed to be one in order to get the download. I simply pre-ordered the title this past Saturday and, if I read correctly, I saw the download listed as one of the special features, along with the liner notes, gatefold sleeve, etc. That was one of the main reasons I went with the special edition instead of the plain-vanilla black vinyl version (I prefer black and don't want to deal with the problems inherent with colored vinyl... got burned too many times already). I was hoping to have a digital, CD-quality version of the album, which would have saved me the need to buy the CD. I like the option of listening to this in the car, etc., and I have no way of digitizing vinyl on my own. I do not remember reading that the download was exclusive to subscribers. The page seems to be gone now, so I'm afraid I can't offer a link.

Thank you for your feedback! Would love to hear from Spencer, though, to set the record straight. I could swear I saw the download as part of the bonus/exclusive features list of the limited edition...
