Videodrome would be awesome, whomever releases it (though I think DW would do a better job on the artwork). I finally snagged a copy last year, well worth it.

@Si: Yeah, that's pretty much the same as I've read about the new Twin Peaks episodes. Though I didn't know about the Ray Wise conversation (that's cool, since he's probably my favourite character!). Personally though, I don't think it'll happen (unfortunately).

I actually think the more interesting thing is the extended edition of Fire Walk with Me - those 40 mins or so of deleted scenes have been tied up in legal crap for decades!! Can't wait for that, if it happens.

I think there are A LOT of rights/legal issues surrounding the series which simply won't ever be resolved. This is probably why it's difficult for anyone to get any straight answers.
Spencer, this is the best news. I am a massive Lynch nut and I’ve been dying for someone to reissue the soundtracks to Twin Peaks and FWWM on vinyl. I could not have wished for a better label to do so – DEATH WALTZ RULES! Such awesome news.

Will the soundtracks be issued separately or are they both going to be one double album of both?
Going to be issued separately
Would the tracklist for “The Beyond” differ from the Mondo release from a couple of years ago?
The same we are remastering from the original source tapes with art by Graham Humphreys
@deathwaltz, quick question re DW RSD releases, will Sub 3 folk get some opps to purchase direct? Asking as we generally see about 40% of RSD releases make it sporadically to AU.

P.S. Amazing news re Twin Peaks and Beyond. Congrats.
Yes sub 3 will have finished before RSD but you will be offered them as a thank you for subbing
Stellar news Spencer! Just makes me a bit sad that I spent 170 quid on sub 3 when sub 4 seems way more interesting than what sub 3 has yielded so far (in my humble opinion). Just make sure to include this in sub 4 and Beyond The Black Rainbow. Then I will gladly renew my subscription when the time comes. Keep up the good work.
Sorry you've been dissapoitned. It's a chance you take when buying blind but honestly if you are into genre soundtracks them sub 3 has been awesome in my eyes new , old , classic & undiscovered scores.

Twin Peaks and FWWM both have artwork approved by David Lynch himself.
I like the idea of a sweepstake ...
Go for it ...

I've been a subscriber since day 1 and I have to say that I've been blown away by sub 3 so far - really fantastic stuff, looking forward to getting Ms.45 and Slumber Party Massacre through now too (they ship today right?)

Lots to look forward to for sub 4 too - even though I've got Twin Peaks and The Beyond (Mondo edition) already. Be nice to get a more substantial release of Twin Peaks, I'm sure that my original UK release copy isn't the heaviest of vinyl. Expecting big things from the RSD releases this year too if last years issues were anything to go by.

Keep up the good work Spencer...

Hell yes, thanks @deathwaltz, sub3 was a cracker, given the opportunity and crunchy granola I'll see you in sub4 for sure.

P.S. That copy of Absurd I mentioned / bragged about arrived today, and it's gonna be hard to take it off. Holy shit.

Spencer wrote...
Very happy today
Just took delivery of the Master for our Release of The Beyond (And also got Graham’s sketch in for the cover) and will be getting City Of The Living Dead next week.
Also confirmed the colors for Twin Peaks & Fire Walk With Me (Cherry & Coffee )also just took delivery of the masters and cover of a film that celebrates it’s birthday this year (it’s over 30 years old) and when you find out what is is and what we are doing with it , we’ll blow your mind)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is mad news...I'm literally overcome with excitement. How the hell can I get on the subscriber list for volume 4?...maybe kidnapping Carpenter and bringing him around to Spencer's house might do it? :-)

Hell...I only posted my 'Lynch wants' a few weeks ago and already it seems to be coming through...unbelievable!!!

To say that I'm a 'Lynch nut' would be a huge understatement...I have been following his work since I was a child (and I'm mid 40's now). I was a poster on Twin Peaks Gazette (forum) for years and also Dugpa, I even went to the first UK Twin Peaks fan fest in 2010. As I said on the 'soundtrack wants' thread...Twin Peaks (tv) series music will (imho) never be matched or bettered by another show. The film soundtrack is equally as brilliant...The Pink Room/Blue Frank tracks being a killer combo. I've downloaded stacks of MP3's from Lynch's own website (tracks not available anywhere else)...the catalogue of TP music, is so incredibly deep!

Spencer...are you saying that you'll be releasing music from the TV series and the film too?

I'm gagging for the Blu Ray release...and the legendary deleted TP:FWWM scenes (that ones been raging for years!). If the 'itunes' HD episodes (I've got them all) are anything to go by...this will be one hell of a release. I noticed the Ray Wise claims recently and he says that the FWWM deleted scenes will be included in a new release, but anyone who knows anything about these 'deleted scenes' will not believe until it is in their hands!

As for the 25 years later aspect...IMO, Lynch will do or has done something, just not sure what it is yet! Twin Peaks is the mold for literally all our modern and current TV series'.

The other 30 year anniversary hint....hmmm, Dune fits in with that timescale and I absolutely adore that one. You've mentioned this one inside a post about another Lynch release...obviously I'm reaching but, PLEASE let it be Dune!!! It would be mental if it is Dune, because Lynch is so down on the film in general...but I love it, with its faults and all! An expanded vinyl release please...with 'spice melange colour' on one side and a 'bluey water of life' colour on the other! Well...I can hope and dream, at least.

Of course...outside of that, I'd like either a special release for Videodrome or The Thing.

Sub 3 has been a mixed bag for sure - but thats a very good thing. I loved sub 1 because of its diversity, even if every release wasn't my cup of tea, but was a little disappointed that sub 2 contained quite a lot of similar sounding records. Sub 3 has been way more surprising, and I only hope sub 4 takes even more chances. I'm not really bothered about getting "classic" scores as much as weird, unusual and (for my personal taste) avant-garde stuff with wicked art.

We are all about taking chances , when you see what we are doing for Record Store Day you'll be happy. I bet bet you all the tea in China that at least two of our RSD releases you have never heard more than the main theme ....
Also we are going to be doing some insane stuff for conventions later this year and we are going to try and thwart flippers by getting you to pose with your DW collection or records , be issuing secret codes etc ... real cloak and dagger stuff. I have an Idea for an app that will grant you stuff when you are there etc etc.
It's going to get exciting and mental in 2014.

Spencer - have you thought about offering some subscriptions through LITA? I finally did Sub 3 and I'm glad I did, but with the exchange rate, it is more expensive. One Way Static is offering subs through LITA and it makes it more affordable. I guess the trade off would be you'd maybe need to offer more as I'm sure they'll sell out quicker if offered through there. Luckily you offer the subs to existing customers first before the general public gets them :) Keep up the awesomeness, can't wait to hear the new transfer of The Beyond, and I'm really looking forward to the Twin Peaks releases!

My guess for the film that's over 30 years?

SCANNERS, people -- came out in 1981, and that certainly involves blowing minds in the most literal sense.

living in South Carolina in the ol' USA, i really hope that the only decent record store in my town will be getting the DW RSD releases, but if not, i hope they will be available at least in limited quantities on LITA or something. i'll be sure to contact the folks at my local store to let them know there is a desire for them so they can at least try to get them.

Seb get's his stock manufatured in the US I get mine done in Europe. It doesn't make sense to split stock up for subbers as it would mean them getting the stock at least two to three weeks after we ship the to the UK & Europe. I'm looking at dropping the need for a sig and then the postage will drop considerably. I like to be in control of the subs and I don't think that option will be best for you guys. Shipping is what it is ... I at least try and keep costs down as much as I can....
the exchange rate is what it is I am afraid ... for instance I saw Day Of The Dead last week in a store in the UK and it was priced at $57 ! Shipping is a bitch and It wouldn't be any cheaper to be honest... Sorry

Thanks for the explanation, obviously there are a lot of things to consider, all of which make perfect sense. Being able to get downloads, other specials, first stab at RSD titles and other releases is worth the extra money with the exchange rate in my opinion. Just seeing what you have in store, I'll spend the extra money without a second thought.

Expanding on layne "January Centerfold Pictorial for Modern Vinyl" harvey's thread, did anyone in the US find RSD DW releases in stores on the day itself? I didn't find any outside of Boston, and I had a friend looking for me in NYC, and he didn't see any, either (although he didn't get his ass out of his apartment until noon).

I am in the burbs of Chicago and can't make my way downtown at 6am to wait in line to get into some of the stores down there -- I assume Reckless and Permanent Chicago had some -- I do know that my brother in law bought me the 12"s at Permanent LA and my brother bought me the 12"s at a record store in Miami -- obviously a lack of communication on my part there -- I ended up with 3 copies of each 12"! I am not sure if that helps, apparently the 7"s were readily available at Permanent LA as well..

Slumber Party Massacre will be ready the second week of March (along with a set of 12 x 12 lithos in a death waltz envelope ....will look better than it sounds ;) , a Tote / shopping bag and some stickers for Subbers)

The Death Waltz store edition will be LTD to only 300 in lurid neon vinyl and the standard edition will be frosted clear.

Sub 4 will then go on sale to existing sub members the last week of march.
Any Unsold subs will go on sale the first week of May.

We will announce 4 titles that will be in sub for on RSD (in fact on the sleeves)...
