nice promo stuff in the mail this week! i was missing Superground and Umiliani's L'uomo Elettronico. two absolute essential Flies! the selection of the Umiliani comp is just pure brilliance. such a great listen. Paesaggi looks really promissing and it has that super thick cover as some of the old Lituo releases have. nice!

Had a few packages come in today: pictured here one from Mondo (obviously) and another from Svart Records. What also arrived but isn't pictured is "Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor Vol.1" 2-LPs from Tiger Lab Vinyl. It's a birthday gift for me from my wife, but unfortunately for her, I'm working at home, so I get to the mail first. It's still in the mailer, but that's what it should be.

i hate the flimsy Dune packaging, its the modern day equivalent of unipak sleeves.

I'm finishing up the Svart releases: enjoyed all three, and each is very different from the other. "A Fire in the Cold Season" is moody, pensive chamber pieces. The main instruments in "Honeydew" are chanting and processed voice gibbering away, giving the album a slight crazed feeling. "The Serpent" sounds like a companion album to Martinez' "Solaris" score. It isn't quite as low key as that one, but it does favor echoing steel drums and chiming percussion. I'm happy with all three of them!

Oh are you keeping your Dune? like you bought it for yourself? how interesting, how odd! haha you may be the only one, the amount of them on eBay and the prices they are asking is absolutely nuts. fingers crossed they announce a black repress soon. haven't had trouble on a mondo release like this in years.

There was already one sold on discogs for close to $300. Definitely a bit nuts.

Pretty sure Mondo confirmed black copies were coming in 2022 so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

Another good mail day (and one b-day present from last night). The present is the Tiger Lab "Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor Vol.1 OST 2-LPs." The other three soundtracks are:

- Andrzej Korzynski "Wielki Uklad" CD
- "Cafe Flesh" LP
- Tim Hecker "The North Water" OST (Invada)

Cafe Flesh is an early '80s American porn film. It's very stylized and culty, though. It's about a dystopian future in which most people can't have orgasms. The ones who can have to put on sex shows for those who can't. The score is synth/new wave. You can hear snippets of it here (https://vimeo.com/512273842), which has the porn parts cut out.

I’m not sure why reasonable would be considered but I paid $40 for each one

I got this last week - I think LaLaLand found some NOS and I jumped on it (which is stupid because there was one even cheaper on discogs but I forgot to check).

Pressing and mastering is insanely good. This should be the gold standard for 50s mono film scores.

Ooh yes baby... I loooove this score,great pressing! 'Carmen Dragon'... that name was talismanic to me as a youngling, rewatching this flick over and over. You may well have prompted a rewatch this evening sir!
