Freud is a very good score. And as we know some if it replaced JG's original Alien score.

Yup, specifically the acid through the hull scene i believe.

Todays mail...this had some big ones in it. Phantasm sleeve is BEAT to hell, the sticker was barely on there although it had taken a bit of the sleeve with it, but the top and bottom are almost completely split so i'll need to think of an attractive repair solution. (any suggestions would be appreciated), but i'm listening to the wax now and its pretty punchy, maybe the slightest static here and there but probably give it a good cleaning and it'll be great, and its a major grail so whatever the condition, thrilled to have it. Spun in honor of Inks, who unbeknownst to me had been eye'ing the same copy and graciously declined my offer to pass it on to him. to your everlasting health my man.

Seven samurai sleeve is a little scraped but the wax is mint, and wavelength looks new.

And he had Warning Sign for cheap which i had been meaning to get anyway so there you have it.

A few outstanding VS coming, but unless I see some truly spectacular deals i'm pretty much set on the affordable and "little pricey" tier and pretty much everything else is a "once a month maybe if i'v e been really good and billed a lot of hours and havn't spent it on anything else" type of purchases.

Sweeet! Really wish I had an OG Phantasm.

Well, here are the fruits of my labors today. There wasn’t a ton of exciting stuff in the rest of the boxes, but the prices were cheap.

VS acquisitions (Cat’s Eye and Re-Animator came in the mail today - Cat’s Eye is for sure unplayed, and the Re-Animator disc is suuuuuper nice).

Gotta admit, the ones on the bottom were stabs in the dark (and all under $10 so I figured they were worth a try).

Also got this weird comp. I have a lot of these records, but the idea of a comp with all of these great pieces on it was too good to pass up at $15. Still sealed so I guess I’ll have to be the first to crack it open.

“THE EVID DEAD” lol

That comp! Very cool. This is a fantastic haul!

All those VS’s are on my list save cats eye which I have, enemy mine is great dude, Jarre isn’t talked about enough on here but he has incredible range as a composer. Like goldsmith he can go from big classic hollywood scores to 80s electronic genre composing in a heart beat. (Or I guess a couple of decades) One man should be able to compose both Lawrence of Arabia and Witness.

I just picked up our man flint recently, gotta get the other one to round out the set!

This comp has a ton of feels for me - I bought it as a teen because I knew a couple of the films, but most of them I didn't know - now look at that lineup! This was the first time I heard about The Lift, for instance. I played this a ton, an amazing selection.

The owner of one of our local shops recently passed and it reopened under new managment this weekend. A quick stop had me thumbing through a Klaus Schultze collection. I left with these 4.

Very nice, Tim! I am actually not familiar with ‚Dig it‘ (I might have listened to it digitally) but the others I know quite well - peak Schulze imo.

I had a Shultze find like that myself a few years ago when someone dropped a bevy of it off. Just grab what you can and don’t look back!

Exotica explosion in yesterday’s mail (plus the last Chappell Dance and Mood Music that I ordered back in early December!) and another Chappell eBay steal.

thanks to all who shared their exotica recommendations!

I am absolutely loving all of these records.

I checked out some Martin Denny last night and while it seems good, none of it is resonating with me the way the Baxter stuff does. Every track is amazing. So dramatic, lush, and emotional. I just love it.
I managed to find a pristine copy of Jewels of the Sea which I’ll hopefully get later today because (once again) it turns out the seller is local and offered to deliver!

so far, I’ve listened to:
- Ritual of the Savage
- The Sacred Idol
- Jungle Jazz
- African Jazz
- The Primitive and the Passionate

So far I’ve gotten lucky and almost all of these are in amazing condition and sound perfect, super quiet. No surface noise on any of them, except African Jazz, which has enough loud pops and crackle that I’ll be looking for a better copy for sure.
The 2-fer looks like it’s a little beat up but hopefully it plays nicer than it looks.

I still have Tamboo! and Carribean Moonlight headed my way, too.

And just like that, it’s already here and it’s NM - even nicer than the seller described.

These records sound so good, it’s insane to me.

Yeah man it’s simply incredible when the disc is in shape these old recordings really play incredibly and the fidelity is really something else. I guess This is what they mean when they say hi fidelity haha. Like a mint casino royale release, you really can’t beat ‘em.

Awesome, ScoJo! Your first clue was driving me nuts cause I knew I had seen that before. And the same with this new one. I cheated but let out a giant "ohhhhhhhh" once I learned what it was.

Some more arrivals.
