Huzzah, mine just arrived!

No. 41, but no grass :(

Bit confused about the numbering on this, it says xx/400 on the back, but the Rough Trade event is stating 500?

My guess is that it's limited to 400, with about 300 sold through the Rook site and the rest at forthcoming events. Perhaps the Rough Trade listing is just wrong?

For those with no grass - mine was wedged right in the sleeve up against the seam of the spine, so have a good rummage!

"A Field In England" is the second soundtrack vinyl released by Rook Films, UK based independent film studio who previously released a beautiful score for the "Sightseers" movie last year (a top quality limited vinyl release, 150 copies numbered and signed by the director and composer!). You can find more info in the link below but, yes, you missed out something really cool.. :(

Just got to the end of Disc 1 (having to stop, The Keep's on Film4 in a bit!) and it's sounding amazing - looking forward to hearing what they've done to Metallic Fields on the whole of Side 3 :)

As a sidenote, I do "suffer" (wrong word, as I love it) from synaesthesia at the right frequencies (thankfully, not any of the brown ones!), and this soundtrack is kicking it off all over the place. It does during the film too as I found out last week when watching it with headphones on, as the B&W went a shade somewhere between green & purple for most of the film...

Superior Viaduct is doing a release of the Solaris score next month.. so if you miss out on that Mirumir one, then there's an alternative...

The other Mirumir Solaris (circa 1990 re-recording) and Stalker/Mirror soundtracks are out now, too...

...and this is the most exciting non-OST I've scored recently - absolutely cracking 3xLP garage punk set, every
bit as rockin' as it looks and a steal at £20!

@discosucks: What a haul! And I'm very envious of your Tarkovsky collection. Received the Mirumir Solaris the other day - utterly beautiful, really impressed with the presentation. Next I'm gonna grab those Stalker/Mirror re-recordings, which look just as impressive.

On the subject of Superior Viaduct's forthcoming Solaris (original recording) - I emailed them and asked specifically about what the master source was. It's been a couple of weeks and they haven't replied. I guess they don't want to say, which sounds quite dubious to me.

Also, I've just read that Mirumir are also going to issue another version of Stalker/Mirror - this time the ORIGINAL recordings, which were previously believed to have been lost! Intriguing to say the least...

haha.... but man, every time i visit this forum, i see sumthin' that has me twitching and turning green! ;) i wasn't joking either - there's been such a dearth of essential stuff this month that I'm livin' on broccoli stems and good will! i'm sure i'll have to pay by missing out on some real gems in the coming month (inc. snagging the gorgeous "Blake's Gold" Fog release :(

Thanks Oswarez and very impressive Mr. Vos, I'm especially jealous of the Mondo Ghibli, Martin and Sightseers but it all looks great!

By the way how do I get my images to show in the body of the message like everyone else's seem to? (that was my first attempt at posting an image).

Great stuff Vos, the Morricone collection is unbelievable (love the 45's!). Really cool the tin of The Incredibles! ;)

Here's my Morricone's:

Of all the soundtracks I have, these cause me the most pain to look at like this - the essential gaps are glaring and unforgiveable! (Umm....for starters - certain scores for Argento classics?? I just can't seem to score them cheap enough :( They're also in the worst condition of any of my collection, played to death and sleeves from "kindof okay" to "bloody tatters". I really need to replace a lot of these. Plus it's painful cuz there's just SO MUCH of him out there, no? Even if you just focused on the Mondo era.....insane. And it's, like, ALL amazing. Oy vey.

Btw - I have a friend, (a record collector/musician/producer) who refuses to listen to anything by Il Maestro after the late 70s. What an idiot :P
