Oh shit, I'm sorry to hear this! I love Sakamoto's work - all the way from YMO to his recent collaborations. He's an artist who's constantly kept things progressive and interesting all the way through his long career. I actually saw him live not long ago. Here's hoping he gets through this...

Here's hoping for a quick, and complete recovery.

So much Japanese videogame soundtracks from the 1980s onwards simply wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for his influence.

So cool! Never knew Sakamoto did that start up screen. Ahh the Dreamcast, one of my favourite consoles - to be fair Sega could never do any wrong in my eyes I'll have to investigate what other video game music he has done. I wish they would release some retro video game OST stuff, even compilations, on vinyl, that would be immense.

Anyway, very sad to hear he has cancer. All the best to him, he'll beat it! Michael Douglas had that a while ago and got through it right?
